Mature Human BDNF (His129‐Arg247)
Substrate/Buffer |
Lyophilized 100 μg human BDNF in 50 μl of TBS ( 20 mM Tris, 50mM NaCl, pH8.0 ). Carry free ( Does NOT contain BSA).

Storage |
Add 500 μl deionized water to the vial to prepare a working stock solution at 200 μg/mL . Allow to set at least 30 minutes at 4 °C, mix well. Store lyophilized protein at ‐20 °C or ‐70 °C. Lyophilized protein is stable for up to 6 months from date of receipt at ‐ 20 °C to ‐70 °C. Upon reconstitution, this protein can be stored at ‐20 °C for a few weeks or at ‐70 °C in a manual defrost freezer for long term storage (six months). Aliquot reconstituted protein to avoid repeated freezing / thawing cycles.

Notes |
BDNFbelongs to NGF family. Monomers and homodimers bind to NTRK2/TRKB. The propeptide is N‐glycosylated and glycosulfated. The pro‐BDNF was converted into mature BDNF by plasmin. BDNF promotes the survival of neuronal populations that are all located either in the central nervous system or directly connected to it. It is a major regulator of synaptic transmission and plasticity at adult synapses in many regions of the CNS.
