Notes |
|
CD31, also known as PECAM-1 (Platelet Endothelial Cell Adhesion Molecule-1), is expressed by all continuous endothelia, including those of arteries, arterioles, veins, venules and non-sinusoidal capillaries. Discontinuous endothelium like i.e. in splenic red pulp does not express CD31. Additionally, CD31 is detectable in the cytoplasmic membrane of megakaryocytes, myeloid cells, NK-cells, platelets, some T-cell subtypes and B-cell precursors.
