| Notes | Cell-Free DNA Urine Preserve is a general purpose reagent in a ready-to-use liquid format that stabilizes cell-free DNA (cfDNA) in urine samples. Samples treated with Cell-Free DNA Urine Preserve are stable up to 7 days at 6 °C to 37 °C. The cfDNA isolated can be used for many downstream applications such as qPCR, ddPCR, and other methods used to profile circulating DNA. The reagent stabilizes all cellular components, including red blood cells and white blood cells present at the time of collection. Cell-Free DNA Urine Preserve enhances the stability of cfDNA and eliminates the lysis of nucleated blood cells and release of cellular genomic DNA which could interfere with accurate cfDNA analysis. Treatment of urine with the liquid preservation reagent also inhibits nuclease mediated nucleic acid degradation during room temperature storage. Cell-Free DNA Urine Preserve is packaged in easy-to-dispense, one-time use plastic containers. The 5.0 mL of liquid urine preservative is appropriate to preserve individual urine sample volumes from 25 mL to 100 mL. The product is ready to add to urine samples at time of collection, allowing transport and storage prior to cfDNA extraction to allow batch processing, off-site extractions, collection in the field and alleviate concerns about sample degradation. In addition, it eliminates the need to immediately process or freeze samples and allows the samples to be shipped to centralized testing locations at ambient temperatures. |
